About K & C

K & C Traders owners, Keith and Connie McFarland, have resided in San Juan County since 1999 and both are native Coloradoans. Keith has been in the Mining Industry since 1980. The McFarland's began offering their Astorite Jewelry in their gift shop at the train terminus in Silverton in 1999. They soon discovered that there was a high demand for their jewelry, so they decided to put it in more of a jewelry type setting and K & C Traders was born. Keith & Connie are in the process of upgrading their store and would love for you to stop by and check out their one-of-a-kind, unique jewelry.

About Astorite

Beautiful gemstones from the mine once owned by Jacob Astor, IV, now rediscovered! The entrance to this mine was dynamited upon his death on the Titanic in 1912. The gem-quality pink ore body with visible gold and silver, which is unique to this mine, is now available in earrings, pendants, and in any custom design you desire. In honor of John Jacob Astor IV and due to the uniqueness of the mineral, we are offering this gemstone under the name of Astorite.
